Lecture-John Denison Crocker: Norwich's Renaissance Man (Non-Station Event)

A series highlighting the people and places that influenced Norwich’s rich history continues with its fourth lecture, “John Denison Crocker: Norwich’s Renaissance Man.”Slater Museum Director Vivian Zoë leads this informative lecture about John Denison Crocker (1822-1907), a Norwich artist whose paintings document the town’s late 19th-century golden age. Some of his images depict captains of the city’s industrial revolution; some are portraits of people important to the development of the Norwich Free Academy; still others are landscapes that document the original nine square miles of Norwich and its rural environs, dotted with the occasional textile mill or church steeple.Tickets may be purchased by phone, online or at the door. 100% of all ticket sales will be donated to support the Norwich Free Academy Universal Access Project.
